Mama's Calling.....

Posted by TheTideFan on October 16, 2005

Bryant heard the call when he left Texas A&M and came to Bama to inherit a program that needed his help.

“Mama” is calling again.

If you are an Alabama football fan, if your blood runs Crimson, if you get chills when you hear “Yea Alabama,” this is your call. You have been put on notice, Mama needs you. Bear said you could tell the difference when Mama was just calling you home for dinner and when she was calling you because she needed your help. Make no mistake, she needs your help. She now needs you like she has never needed you before. She needs you to stand up and be counted in Bryant Denny on Saturday. She needs you to be the difference. She needs you to leave it on the field (in the stands). She needs to know that when the chips are down, you’ll be there. When everyone else falls away, you’ll be counted.

It’s been a long few years. We were thrown under the bus by a number of factions (one in particular, the orange nation and Phatimus), lied about in the media, stomped on while we were down, and left for dead. We remember, we will never forget.

Inevitably, in life, you reap what you sow. When you sow lies, secret witnesses, and unmitigated anger, you will reap the same. Maybe not at the time you sow it, but make no mistake, it will be reaped. Folks, harvest time is Saturday.

As a kid in your backyard, if you ever pretended you were Namath, Ozzie, Ogilvie, Bennett, Thomas, or Humphrey. If you ever wanted the ball in your hands, a Crimson jersey on your back, and two minutes on the clock against UT, Auburn or Notre Dame. If you ever made the game winning catch, hit, kick or throw as time expired, then Saturday is your day.

They thought we would quit. They thought we would die. They thought they could get away with it. They thought Mama was dead.

I hear Mama and I’m runnin’ home.

It’s UT week. Paybacks are hell.
