While I agree with BamaKatie that Ti has the right to do what he wants with his website, I think he has made a poor decision. I am a undergrad and graduate alumni who has been a member of TidePride for 10 years. Each year I pay roughly $1,300 for the Touchdown Club package and have traveled from Atlanta to all the games. Unfortunately, this year I've been unable to go to a single game. My mother lost her home in Hurricane Katrina and thus I go home every weekend to help instead. I don't mention this to get any sympathy just to make a point.
Since I have missed all the games, I at least would like to recoup some of my sunk costs for the year. What is wrong with selling two tickets to say the Tennessee game for $400 a pair. While it may seem high to some of you, my cost for that game was $220. By selling for a little higher price it is a win win. I get to recoup some of my cost while another Bama fan gets to buy tickets to a couple good games each year. The latter fan actually sees the same best games of the year that I do normally at a much lower total cost for the year.
Based on TI's decision, those needing tickets will have to revert back to sites such as Ebay or calling a ticketbroker from an ad in the newspaper to pay the same prices you would have paid here. I purposely would prefer to post my tickets here since there is a greater chance that I'm keeping the tickets in the Bama Family.
I don't post very often but appreciate the opportunity to get this off my chest. TI, I really hope you reconsider your decision. I enjoy your site and can't wait to next season when I can go to all the games again.
