Big plays! That's what Alabama's offense has
lacked the past few seasons.
Enter Quincy Jackson. At East Mississippi JC last season, Quincy totaled 40 receptions for 1,100 yards and 16 TDs. That's an average of 27 yards a catch and a touchdown every 2.5 receptions. Quincy's longest reception was a 92 yard TD. Including kick returns, Quincy had 1,700 yards of total offense. That's a lot of big plays folks! A.E. Sullins, assistant HC at East Mississippi, says that Jackson reminds him of a pretty good WR who's already wearing the Crimson and White. "He's a lot like Michael Vaughan," Sullins says. "He's very fluid and has great hands. He doesn't cradle the ball, he plucks it out of the air with his hands. Quincy and Vaughan together, gives Alabama two hellacious receivers." Quincy recently told Tider Insider that he's very excited about the philosophy of new Tide OC Bruce Arians. "Alabama will still run the ball, but we are going to throw it a lot more now. Coach Arians will be using three and four wide sets. It's going to be great for a wide receiver," Quincy said. "I wish I could go through spring drills, but I promise you I'll be ready to play in the fall." Quincy is scheduled to graduate on May 10. |
