Shaun is a very talented and extremely personable
young man. He has the ability to be the biggest catch of this recruiting
class.
Shaun was a two-time All-State player and was twice chosen as the East Tennessee Player of the Year ('95,'96). He was a member of the SUPERPREP AA team, and most recruiting services regard him as one of the nation's top 10 RB prospects. In his junior year Shaun rushed for 1825 yards and 26 TDs. As a senior he rushed for 2,511 yards and 32 TDs. He averaged 11 yards per carry! He also returned four kickoffs for TDs and averaged over 40 yards per return. Shaun’s HS coach, Joe Gaddis, says about Shaun, "He's blazing fast. He's faster than any back I've ever had. You wouldn't believe a tall back like Shaun would have great cutting ability, but he does. When he's in the open field he's very dangerous with his speed and ability to cut. It's unbelievable how he makes people miss. He's just a great player." Followers of HS football in Tennessee rate Shaun the equal of any RB to come out of that state in many years One source who covers the SEC compares Bohanon favorably to current Tide star Shaun Alexander. Others say he's a faster version of former Tide All-American Bobby Humphrey. Shaun told Tider Insider that he has the necessary core GPA, but that he's a point shy on his ACT. He expects to make a passing score on his next attempt. |
