One of the fastest rising names in the South is Eastman, GA's Marlon Davis. Tider Insider had the opportunity to speak with Davis on Thursday, December 5.

First of all, which schools are you looking at right now?

Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Auburn

You mentioned Georgia first. Are they your favorite?

No, Alabama is my favorite right now. I went over to the Alabama-Auburn game and I really liked the way Alabama plays. I think I could play right away over there.

Some people list you as a tight end, while others say defensive end. Which position do you favor?

It really doesn't matter. Wherever they want to put me I'll play. I'm a good blocker and can catch the ball well too. Alabama and Auburn are both telling me they like me on defense. They saw my speed on film and said they really like what I can do as a defensive end or linebacker.

We understand you are a good basketball player too.

I'm pretty good I guess. I like playing basketball a lot, but football is probably what I do best.

Have you scheduled any visits?

I've set up two as of now. I'm going to Alabama on January 10th and Georgia on the 17th. I expect to visit Auburn and Tennessee, but I haven't set any dates yet. I won't make a decision until I take my visits.

[Tider Insider note: Since we spoke to Marlon last Thursday night, reports have surfaced that he may have committed to Auburn over the weekend. Tider Insider attempted to telephone Marlon Monday night, December 9 to verify those reports but he was at basketball practice.

We spoke to his mother who told us, "he's getting a lot of phone calls, but he's not made any decision that I'm aware of." She continued, "If he was going to make some sort of a decision, he would've told me about it first. He's not mentioned a thing."]

QUICK FACTS: Marlon says he's 6'7, 225 and has been clocked at 4.5 in the 40. He has a 2.8 GPA and is scheduled to take his test soon. His HS number is 84.
