Jason reminds some people of former Alabama star WR Kevin Lee when Lee was coming out of HS -- he's raw but has tremendous speed. And don't forget, Lee was the 35th player selected in the '94 NFL draft. Jason, who runs a legitimate 4.4, is a member of the two-time defending state champion 4x100 relay team. He is among the state's best 300-meter hurdlers and is also a top decathlete. As a senior, Jason began emerge as a football player. He caught 41 passes for 800 yards and 12 TDs (according to HS coach). Joe Gaddis, the HC at Oak Ridge, considers Jason a late bloomer with big play ability. "Jason didn't get a lot of publicity because he didn't have a big junior season," Gaddis says. "He caught the college coaches by surprise this season. He has big-time speed and can catch the ball." Another reason Jason didn't get much spotlight was because of two highly regarded teammates at Oak Ridge, Alabama signee Shaun Bohanon and Florida signee Mike Gipson. Bohanon says it's only a matter of time before Jason makes a name for himself at Alabama. "Jason didn't get a lot of recognition because he doesn't have a lot of experience," Bohanon told us. "With his speed and ability, he's going to be a great player at Alabama." | |||
