Is there anything left to be said about Sam?
If so, maybe it's that he just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Except, of course, in the eyes of some newspapers and recruiting services who dropped Sam down their list when he committed to Alabama. Among the unbiased sources, Sam's stock continues to rise. Corky Rogers, HC at Bolles, is one who's not prone to overstatement. "He's a four year starter and we have not had many of those," Rogers said. "Sam runs very well. He has a great physique and is very strong (400 BP). He can play inside or outside on defense." The coach also noted that Sam seems to be hitting another growth spurt. "He just keeps growing," Rogers said. His size reminds some of former Tide AA DL Jon Hand, but Sam is much stronger than Hand was at this stage of his career. Sam reminds others of a taller version of former Dallas Cowboy great Randy White. Not bad comparisons! Sam made nearly 175 tackles and over 20 QB sacks the past two seasons. He was a two-time all-stater, the state of Florida's number one prospect, and a consensus All-American as a senior. |
