Brandon was a three-year starter for the Patriots.
As a sophomore he earned a starting spot at wide receiver. He caught a school-record 49 passes for 705 yards and five touchdowns and returned kickoffs for another 200 yards. His team went 3 and 8.
As a junior he switched to quarterback and produced 1,578 yards of total offense and accounted for 15 touchdowns -- eight passing and seven rushing. Hillcrest finished with a 5-5 record, the school's best ever finish on the 6A level.
As a senior he accounted for 1,306 yards of offense and 12 touchdowns for a 3-7 team.
In his career, Brandon totaled over 3,700 all-purpose yards and accounted for 32 touchdowns.
Honors include being chosen 6A All-State and twice being named to The Tuscaloosa News' All West Alabama team. He was named to The Tuscaloosa News' Sweet 16 list of the state's top prospects. The Sporting News tabbed him as one of the nation's top 25 quarterbacks.
He chose Alabama over Virginia Tech and Purdue.
