DE/TE Greg McLain

6-3, 240, 4.65
Lineville

The 'Moose' will soon be loose in Tuscaloosa.

"I think getting Moose is a big pickup for Alabama," says Lineville head coach Steve Giddens. "He's a good football player and he wants to be at Alabama. He's a fine Christian young man and he's an extremely hard worker. He'll do whatever it takes to be his best. He's going to be a big asset for the Alabama program. I have no doubt about that."

McLain, known in his hometown of Lineville as the 'Moose', could play several positions in college, including fullback, tight end, linebacker or defensive end.

"Alabama recruited me as an athlete," says the 6-3, 240-pounder. "It doesn't really matter to me where I play. I just want to help the team any way that I can."

McLain was a four-year starter in his high school career. He played in 55 games. This past season he helped Lineville to a 13-1 record and to a spot in the state semifinal game where they lost to Leroy. He was named 2A All-State this past season.

McLain has been timed at 4.65 in the 40.
