Antoneyo has the versatility new Tide OC Bruce
Arians is looking for in a RB. He can run inside, outside, and catch the
ball out of the backfield.
Even though he has reportedly been timed at 4.37, some people question his speed. Central coach Buzz Busby says Antoneyo is as fast as he needs to be. "All I can say is that Antoneyo's never been caught from behind," Busby told us. "He's what I call deceptively fast. He appears to be moving slower than what he really is, then all of a sudden he's gone." Antoneyo has very thick and strong legs which makes it difficult for opponents to wrap-up when tackling him. "He's a very powerful runner, but he can also run outside. He's a complete back," Busby says. The past two seasons, Antoneyo rushed for over 3,000 yards and 55 TDs . His stats would've been even more impressive, but he played sparingly during several of Central's blowout wins. Antoneyo is one of the most decorated prospects to sign with Alabama this year. He was Alabama's Mr. Football '96, a two-time All-State pick, and the state's top prospect according to the Birmingham News. He was also selected to the USA Today and SUPERPREP All-American teams. Antoneyo's brother-in-law is former Alabama star RB Linnnie Patrick. |
