Andrew was considered one of the top 10 prospects in the state of Florida following his junior season. Then last spring he suffered a major knee injury, a torn ACL, which required reconstructive surgery.

Andrew returned about midway through his senior season to help Union County to their third consecutive state championship.

"My knee is much better now. My speed is coming back." Andrew says. "I played basketball this season and never had any problems."

As a junior, Andrew accounted for over 2,000 yards of total offense (1,000 passing & rushing) and 23 TDs. In the state championship game this season, Andrew began to regain the form he had before his injury by connecting on 6 of 7 passes for 177 yards and 2 TDs. He also ran for a TD in the game.

His HS coach, Robby Pruitt, has compared him to former Nebraska star QB Tommie Frazier. "Andrew is very athletic. He has a very strong arm and very good quickness."

Although Union County is primarily a ground oriented team, Pruitt says Andrew is a talented passer. "We just didn't throw the ball enough for him to standout as a passer. He is capable of becoming an excellent dropback passer."

In the preseason most of the recruiting services rated Andrew very highly as a DB. Coach Pruitt says that it would not be a surprise if Andrew ends up on defense in college. "He was outstanding for us on defense," Pruitt says. "He could play in the secondary or become a very athletic linebacker."

Andrew also excels in the classroom. He carries a 3.3 GPA and has made passing scores on the ACT and SAT.
